Just One Cigarette? Think Again, Says Dubai Health Authority

This is a phrase often heard: “Just a cigarette didn’t hurt.” Or, “This is only once at once.” But according to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), even a puff can take thousands of toxic results.

In a recent health warning, the DHA reminded the public that every cigarette contains more than 4,000 harmful substances, including 94 highly toxic chemicals. When these substances are burnt, their danger increases serious risks not only for smokers but also through the smoke of the other hand.

Major facts from dha:

There is no safe level of smoking, never even.

Second-hand smoke is especially harmful to children, pregnant women and the elderly.

Long-term risk-even short doses may cause disease, heart condition and cancer.

The message is clear: “Just a” is still a much more.

Whether you smoke regularly or only “once at once,” effects on your health – and the health of your loved ones – are real and permanent. The DHA urges all the residents to make an alternative to informed and get support if they want to leave.

Because your lungs, and your loved ones, deserve better.
