Dubai is once again advancing its transport game. Rhodes and Transport Authority (RTA) in partnership with EMAR Properts announced plans to expand the Burj Khalifa -DBI Mall Metro Station on 22 June – which is one of the busiest transit hubs in the city.
Why expansion?
The station, which directly connects to the prestigious Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, sees a huge increase in foot traffic during New Year’s Eve, major holidays and international programs. The current is struggling to hold the current infrastructure, with a record-brakeing tourist number and growing population.
An RTA official said, “We are one of the most important stations in the future Dubai Metro network.” “This upgrade will ensure smooth travel experiences for both residents and tourists.”
What is coming?
While full design details have not been released, focus on expansion will be focused:
To reduce the congestion of large platforms and walkway
More entry and exit points to improve crowd control
Increased access to people of determination
Rapid for Dubai Mall and Cow attraction, more spontaneous connection
A vision for intelligent mobility
The project aligns with the strategic vision of Dubai for smart and durable dynamics, aimed at making public transport a favorite option for millions of people. It is also part of the RTA’s broad mission to increase capacity, safety and efficiency in the metro network as the city is ready for more mega-events and record tourist arrival.
From daily travelers to festivals, Advanced Burj Khalifa -DBI Mall Mall Mall Station will soon be ready to handle all this – because in Dubai, even there is part of the experience.
