The siren was triggered after reports from a missile barrage in the region, the shopkeepers were sent to a frenzy because the crowd was caught for fear of an attack.
Eyewitnesses described people shouting, running to get out and hiding behind counters and store displays. Some families were separated in anarchy, while others took shelter in backroom and storage areas.
The authorities quickly worked to secure the campus, and there is no injury. Officials later confirmed that siren was part of the precautionary alert system and there was no direct threat to the mall.
