New Delhi, India – May 1, 2021:
In a worsening diplomatic conflict, India has officially shut down its airspace to Pakistani airlines, starting from April 30 and lasting until May 23, following a significant escalation in tensions due to recent violence in Kashmir.
The move was announced via a notice to airmen (notam) and comes just days after pakistan banned indian airlines from its skies in response to the killing of 26 tourists in a terror attack in kashmir, an incident india has linked to pakistan-based groups.
The tit-for-tat airspace closures are expected to cause disruptions in regional air travel, leading to longer flight routes, higher fuel expenses, and potentially impacting thousands of passengers from both sides.
We will not tolerate any method that does not include line breaks
Indian airspace has been closed to Pakistani aircraft.
Pakistani authorities have already imposed a ban on Indian airlines flying over their airspace.
International airlines might experience changes in flight routes and longer travel durations.
As the tensions between the two nations escalate, the skies above mirror the seriousness of their ongoing conflicts on the ground.
